The long electrode method uses steel cased wells for passing electrical current or measuring the resulting electrical field potential. In this latest work, we set out to validate the methodology by conducting a pilot scale (on the order of a few meters) field experiment, whereby a plume of known geometry and properties are buried below the surface. The results of the image reconstruction show conclusively that the method works. The paper is being published in the journal Geophysical Prospecting.
