Austin Bergerson is a Field Technician II with hydroGEOPHYSICS, Inc. (HGI) background in field geology and environmental science. During spring 2023, Austin is expected to earn his B.S. in Geological Sciences from the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA). At UAA, Austin’s studies focus on structural geology and geochemistry. While at UAA, Austin earned a multi-disciplinary skillset through unique experiences, including a geologic camp in the French Alps and the Arizona Black Hills and spending time in the Alaskan North Slope as a USGS research assistant. Austin’s interest in geophysics peaked after working with seismic data for oil reservoir analysis. Since then, Austin has been passionate about learning as much as he can about understanding and applying geophysics.
At HGI, Austin assists geoscientists and engineers with the operation of geophysical survey equipment and the survey process. Austin has a working knowledge of resistivity, seismic, and other geophysical methods and instruments, which he utilized to support each of his HGI projects. Austin plans to follow his passion and continue to develop his geoscience skillset and geophysical experiences.
Austin enjoys camping, hiking, soccer, and exploring new places in his free time. He aims to know a little about everything.
