Ryan Robbins is a Field Technician with hydroGEOPHYSICS, Inc., with a diverse background in engineering and subsurface investigation gained during his time in the USMC. He assists geoscientists and engineers with measuring subsurface geologic properties using field geophysical instrumentation and is responsible for equipment storage and maintenance. Since becoming a member of the HGI team, Ryan has gained experience in the application of electrical-resistivity and seismic surveys and GPS data acquisition.

Before coming to HGI, Ryan was a combat engineer in the U.S. Marine Corps for 3 years immediately following graduation from high school. Working in the USMC in combat engineering, he trained to alter the battlefield through; the location and identification of landmines, planning and construction of obstacles and fighting positions, and construction and placement of demolitions, creating a valuable team player and ready leader. Adapting to diverse environments, low supplies, and changing roles and responsibilities earned him respect for adaptability and resiliency while maintaining clear and quick communication.

After separation from the USMC, he obtained work as an ophthalmic technician, following his drive to learn and help others while using medical imaging techniques to provide doctors with reliable and accurate data for diagnosis and treatment.

Passionate about the outdoors and building, he aims to leave the world a better place than he found it while learning everything he can about it as he goes.
