Alex Duff is a geoscientist with hydroGEOPHYSICS, Inc. (HGI). His background is in geophysics, with a focus on seismology. He received his M.S. degree in Geophysics and B.S. degree in Earth Science from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology (NMT).
Before coming to HGI, Alex worked several college-related jobs, as well as interned as a seismometer maintenance worker for the USGS. Of his college jobs, the most impactful was his position as a Research Assistant. During this period, he researched the recent increase in seismicity in the New Mexico portion of the Delaware Basin. As an intern for the USGS, Alex identified broken seismometers from their data and traveled across the country repairing them. These experiences, as well as his passion for performing Earth science work in the field, have led Alex to pursue his career at HGI.
Alex enjoys hiking, nature photography, rock and fossil collecting, reading, and playing instruments when not on the job.
